Let’s get basic and make some classic chocolate chip cookies! I’m going to show you a simple recipe that you can make 3 ways by substituting the fat out. These cookies are a butter recipe, a shortening one, and an all vegan based cookie made with coconut oil.
THE INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR ALL OF THEM:
(2 ¼) Cups of Flour
(1) Teaspoon Baking Soda
(1) Teaspoon Salt
(3/4) Cup Brown Sugar
(2/3) Cup Granulated Sugar
& (1) Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
FOR THE BUTTER AND SHORTHENING BATCH:
(12) Tablespoons of Butter or Shortening
(2) Large Eggs
& Bag of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
FOR THE VEGAN BATCH:
(3/4) Cup of Coconut Oil
(2) Egg Substitutes (1/2 Tbsp. Water, ½ Tbsp. Vegetable Oil, 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder)
A Bag of Vegan Chocolate Chips or a Vegan Chocolate Bar
& Water As Needed
